5G Fundamentals
6G-Versus

This course introduces the fundamental concepts of 5G networks, covering RAN, core architecture, transport/backhaul, and network & service management. Learners will gain hands-on familiarity with open-source tools and practical workflows used in modern 5G environments, including network slicing and orchestration. By the end of the course, participants will be able to deploy and configure a basic core, set up a MANO framework, and run a simulated 5G environment.

Technological evolution towards 6G
6G-Versus

This course explores the technological evolution from 5G to Beyond-5G and towards 6G, with a focus on sustainability enablers and emerging capabilities (energy-awareness, AI-assisted monitoring, new frequency bands, trustworthiness, and green edge). Learners will practice deploying an energy monitoring system and interpreting monitoring outputs to assess system behaviour. The course also develops the ability to deploy, monitor, and evaluate cloud-native systems in support of sustainable advanced connectivity.

6G Use cases and trials
6G-Versus

This course presents current and future advanced connectivity use cases, with emphasis on 6G application scenarios and the 6G-VERSUS clusters. Learners will develop the ability to define technical objectives, derive KPIs and KVIs, and differentiate architectural approaches based on the needs of each use case. The course supports the onboarding of new researchers and stakeholders by connecting real-world trials to structured methodologies for evaluation and impact assessment.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship in 5G, 6G and Emerging Connectivity
6G-Versus

This course builds innovation and entrepreneurship skills for the advanced connectivity landscape shaped by 5G and emerging 6G technologies. Learners will understand the innovation ecosystem and apply practical business tools (e.g., SWOT, Business Model Canvas) to develop solutions around real-world use cases. The course also introduces ESG principles, sustainable innovation practices, and responsible pathways to market, helping participants define viable business models with minimized environmental impact.
